Track 1

2PM. Madrid, Spain. Museo del Prado [1].

Whoa… Amazing! When you think of museums in Madrid, this is the place that comes to mind!

I guess so. Thanks to you, the next Father was chosen, so things have finally calmed down and I’ve been able to take some time off. Relaxing like this sometimes isn’t so bad, is it? It’s just the two of us on this trip too.

Ah, it’s okay. Five months have passed since then and there haven’t been any strange occurrences around you or Amphisbaena [2]. So don’t worry. And if something happens, I’ll be here, so it’s no problem at all! But I suppose that has its good and bad points, huh?

[01:05]
You see, I didn’t think I’d even get searched at a museum. I guess it can’t be helped, considering the way I look. It’s even more likely for a guy with one black eye, isn’t it?

I’m sorry you got looked at strangely too because of me.

Thanks. Well, that’s it. We should forget about the annoying stuff and enjoy ourselves now. Goethe [3] said the same thing, didn’t he?

“Enjoy when you can, endure when you must.”

Alright, let’s go!

[01:56]
Look at this! It’s amazing. Naturally, the Museo del Prado would make you think of Goya [4]!

Goya had been a court painter for six years when he lost his hearing. I think he was in his forties, and for the rest of his life after that, the things painted were a little different.

The Deaf Man’s Villa [5]. That was the other name of Goya’s country home.

See, here they are. The Black Paintings [6]. These wall paintings were made to decorate the walls of that house. It seems they were called the Black Paintings because they mainly featured the colour black. Under this painting, there is a picture of a landscape. That was discovered with the use of recent technology.

[02:56]
Goya never said anything about the Black Paintings, but they say a lot to me.

Hmm… I don’t know whether I like them, but they do make me curious. You see, one of my eyes is black too.

Don’t look so depressed. It doesn’t bother me now. Because you can look at me directly. I feel as if there’s something normal inside my black eye and it doesn’t bother me anymore. So I’m grateful to you.

[03:53]
Don’t get close to me all of a sudden! Well, I guess it’s okay.

So I suppose we’re done looking at wall paintings?

Ah. Hey, look over here! There’s a fresco painting. It’s quite different to the wall paintings. It’s a picture of an angel and it’s completely different to that painting of Saturn [7] earlier.

Well, this kind of painting does suit you a lot more than the black ones.

It’s nothing!

Damn it! What am I even saying?

Huh? Like I said, it was nothing!

Anyway, you’re hungry, right? There’s a café here, so let’s stop by there!

[04:59]
Hmm?

Ah… Not really. There’s nothing wrong.

Ah, even this place is called a work of art too. I was just having a little look. We’ve come all the way here, so it’d be no good if I didn’t, wouldn’t it?

Hey, you… You’re trying to pick a fight, aren’t you?

I’ve always had a scary looking face.

Come on, don’t worry about the small stuff. Eat up, instead of spacing out like that. It’s going to get cold.

[06:10]
I’m going to the toilet. Make sure you stay here.

It’d be annoying if we got separated here, right? We’ve got plans after this too, so we’d be wasting our time if you ended up getting lost, wouldn’t we?

Then make sure you stay put.

Tch. I’ve had a strange feeling since we arrived in Madrid, but I can’t believe they came all the way here… Damn it. What am I gonna do?

Miss! What are you doing here? I told you to stay put, didn’t I?

Ah… It’s not my blood. I’m fine.

[07:08]
We’ve gotten into a bad situation though. I’ve had a bad feeling for a while now, so I planned on checking that out here…

Damn it. They’ve got allies here.

That’s right, reinforcements turned up right away. I’ve dealt with anyone I could find for now, but it’s too dangerous for us to stay here any longer. We’re going to leave right now…

A taser?!

Damn it… I didn’t get them all…

Miss… Get away from here…

[1] Museo del Prado -The main Spanish national art museum, which is located in central Madrid.
[2] Amphisbaena – A mythological ant-eating snake, which has heads at both ends of its body.
[3] Johann Wolfgang von Goethe – A German writer and statesman who lived between 1749-1832.
[4] Francisco Goya – A Spanish painter and printmaker, considered the most important Spanish artist of the 18th and 19th centuries.
[5] The Deaf Man’s Villa – A house on the outskirts of Madrid where Goya lived from 1819-1824.
[6] The Black Paintings – Fourteen paintings by Goya, created between 1819-1823, which reflected the painter’s fear of insanity and bleak outlook on humanity.
[7] One of the Black Paintings created by Goya is titled “Saturn Devouring His Son” and portrays the Greek myth of the Titan Cronus who devoured his children, afraid that they would overthrow him.

Track 2

Current time unknown. In a dark room. An unknown amount of hours have passed.

Miss! Miss!

Thank goodness you’re awake.

Ah, I see. You wouldn’t know because it’s so dark.

I’ve had training so that I can see a little, even in places like this.

I’m here. Are you injured, Miss? Does it hurt anywhere?

You’re not hurt? You were drugged, weren’t you?

Hmm? I’m fine. I was just unconscious because they used a taser on me. It was a pretty strong voltage.

[01:04]
Oh? I’m okay! I’m glad they didn’t use the taser on you, Miss.

Anyway, I’m sorry. You got caught up in something dangerous because of me.

You’re as brave as ever. That’s just what I’d expect from you. But this was my mistake. I’m definitely going to get you out of here.

Ah, it was like this when I woke up. We’re joined together by these things again. The only good thing is that the chain on these handcuffs is longer.

I’d planned on dealing with this so you wouldn’t have to find out, but I couldn’t do it.

[02:12]
I don’t actually know what happened either. I just know we were brought here by car.

We were moving when I woke up, and I think we were in a van. They’ve probably brought us somewhere else. They put bags over our heads right away, so I don’t know exactly where we are.

You might not know because it’s dark, but the door is a metal one. Kicking it wouldn’t be enough to make it open. It’d actually draw their attention and everything would be over.

The only thing we can count on is the light coming through that window made from metal bars. It’s too dark to get you out of here. It’s cloudy outside, even though the clouds are far away.

[03:12]
It should be better if it gets brighter.

Hmm… What they want, huh? I’m not sure yet, but I know you’re their target.

Ah. If their plan was to kidnap you, then that’d be right… But since I’m here too, that’s not the only thing, is it? Don’t they plan on making this a warning? The fact that they’ve been watching you probably means they’re trying to make an enemy of Amphisbaena.

They’re probably planning to kill me and send my body to Amphisbaena, then use you to make some kind of deal, right?

[04:14]
Why’d you get up all of a sudden? It’s not safe!

Miss! Are you okay?

Ah, you’re not heavy at all. Why’d you get up so quickly though?

Ah, I’m sorry. I was thinking that’s how you always are. You’re in this dangerous situation, but you’re more worried about me than yourself.

Jeez. I know you always do that, but you really are too kind.

Thank you.

Don’t worry. I’m not going to die that easily. I’ve got to protect you, you see.

[05:08]
Anyway, will you be able to get up? If something happens, we won’t be able to escape if we’re like this.

They really have given us a good welcome. They’ve used handcuffs and rope. Just how cautious are they?

It definitely wouldn’t be good to sit here and wait for the enemy. But it’s no problem. We can get out of these right away.

It’s just as I thought. The moonlight is shining in to help us. I thought you wouldn’t be able to move around in the dark, but this light should be enough, right?

So let’s hurry up and get out of here.

[06:10]
I wanted to use the key-chain hanging from my waist to cut the rope… But it’s caught up in the rope.

Hmm? Ah, this key-chain opens up into a knife. If I can’t use that, then I’m going to use this.

Ah, it was hidden in my belt buckle. This is no ordinary wire either. It’s a wire saw, which is a wire strengthened with diamond dust. It can cut through wood and concrete.

That’s right, I’ve become fond of it recently. It’s useful to be able to hide your weapon, right? I can use this with just one hand and my mouth…

[07:14]
Turn around, Miss.

Ah, hold this end. I’m going to cut mine.

That’s right, there. Don’t hold the wire by accident.

Yes, it was a poison needle that time. I’m surprised you remember.

Well, there are many different types of hidden weapon.

Ah. Now we should be able to move a little more freely.

I really do end up chained to you a lot. We were chained together like this when we first met too.

[08:12]
We’re in a similar place as well.

People shouldn’t underestimate me. If it were the same as last time, we wouldn’t be able to get them off without going back to the base, but I’m not leaving us with this weakness.

Good answer! Of course, I’ve got it all figured out already.

The problem with this kind of portable wire saw is its strength, and it’s not suited to using on metal, but mine should at least cut through some handcuffs.

Miss, we’re going to stretch the handcuffs as much as possible. It’s difficult to cut when it’s not taut.

Wait! They’re here.

There’s more than one of them, huh?

[09:10]
This is annoying. If we cause a disturbance, they’ll surround us immediately.

We don’t have a choice.

Hey. Wind the cut rope around you and sit down. Do it quickly!

Alright. Stay like that until I give you a sign.

Hey. Who are you guys?

We didn’t think we’d get a welcome like this.

Thank you.

I’m impressed you had a taser with such a high voltage and knocked me out.

Unfortunately, a momentary electric shock isn’t enough to kill me.

Of course it’d be terrible if you shot me in the head with those.

[10:15]
Hey. Tell me who you are. I can’t die without knowing that.

I didn’t think you’d be that kind. In that case…

I can understand you want to pick up your gun, but is it really alright to turn your back on me?

What’s it feel like to have a wire cutting into your neck?

You know, even a wire can take someone’s head off.

Ah, you had a little accident. A wire wouldn’t take someone’s head off that easily, so don’t worry.

Oh, you’re not listening.

Miss. You’re going to run. I’ll deal with the other guy.

Just because you’re bigger, doesn’t mean you can beat me! You hurry up and die too…

[11:20]
Jeez, using a wire really is tough.

Right… Miss, let’s cut the chain while we can. Things will be even worse if their allies turn up.

You were still conscious? This is why big guys are trouble.

It’s no problem! I’ll strangle him with this again and send him to the other side! This is over now…

The wire saw… Quit struggling!

I’m sure it was crushed by that guy, I heard it make a terrible sound…

I knew it.

[12:12]
Ah, jeez… That was my favourite weapon…

It’s broken. Well, I’ve got other weapons. Fighting them won’t be a problem.

But for now, we should get out of here and contact Amphisbaena.

We couldn’t get these off in the end either.

They didn’t fire their guns, so I don’t think their allies will be here right away…

I guess things won’t turn out so easily.

Miss, we’re going to run. We’ve got to get out of here for now. This way!

Track 3

Current time unknown. Near a beach in Spain. An unknown amount of hours have passed.

We should be okay here.

Ah, I’ll contact Amphisbaena right away. We should at least let them know what’s happening.

It’s not here… Damn it!

Miss! Have you got your phone?

I thought so… Jeez…

Those guys were smart. They probably did their research on us.

[01:02]
We won’t be able to contact anyone else right away. We’re still trapped in their territory too.

Someone might come after us. Running around in the dark is also dangerous. Let’s wait somewhere until it gets light.

The beach is nearby… There we go! That’s probably a notice board there by the shore. We’ll know where we are now if we have a look. Once we know that, we’ll be able to hide. Let’s go and have a look at the notice board.

Hmm… Our current location is… Malvarossa?!

Ah… This place is called Malvarossa Beach… And this is the famous…

[02:05]
Wait a minute… This means we’re in Valencia?

Ah… We’re pretty far from Madrid.

Well, we did get taken here in a van, so I guess that’s no surprise.

I understand that you’re worried, but right now, we just have to do something.

I told you, didn’t I? We don’t know when someone might catch up to us.

We’re going to hide now.

That’s right… Malvarossa Beach is in front of us, so I know somewhere we can hide. Let’s go.

[02:59]
11PM. Malvarossa Beach, Valencia. Inside a restaurant. Nine hours have passed.

It’s just as I thought. A beach restaurant wouldn’t be open this late. We didn’t see anyone else on our way here either, did we?

This restaurant doesn’t have much security, especially at the back door…

I knew it, it’s a cylinder lock. I can have this open in 10 seconds.

That’s right. It’s a convenient thing to have. Well, there is a technique to it though.

[03:57]
Breaking a window? You’ve become the type of person that says some pretty dangerous things, Miss.

Well, if I was alone, then I could have crashed in through the front. But the way things are… We’re going to hide now, so if there was evidence of us breaking in, it’d be too obvious, wouldn’t it?

There we go. It’s open.

I know. Don’t turn on the lights though. This place can be easily seen from the outside.

Hmm… Somewhere we won’t be seen…

Got it. This is probably the employees’ room.

We won’t be seen here. Come inside, Miss.

[05:11]
Now we should be sorted until morning.

What time is it now anyway?

A clock… A clock…

Jeez. It’s inconvenient when you don’t have a phone at times like this.

Ah… Whoa… It’s almost midnight.

It was afternoon when we were looking at the paintings… So it’s been quite a while since then…

Are you tired?

I see. That’s good then… Don’t push yourself too hard. I said this earlier, but we’re still on their territory.

We should be on our guard until we’re back in Rome.

[06:06]
Tell me if you feel tired. You won’t really be able to get a proper rest in this situation though.

You don’t need to thank me. You don’t have to worry about every little thing.

Right… We’ll keep going once it gets light. Once we get to Barcelona, we might be able to pick up a boat.

No. If we leave from around here, the enemy will notice us right away. We’ve got to get away from them as soon as possible.

How? Well… From here, the train would be the best thing.

[07:05]
We’ll get a seat first thing in the morning…

Ah… Hmm?

Sorry, it’s exactly what you’re thinking. They didn’t just take my phone, they took my money too.

Well… I suppose it was to be expected, when you think about it.

Now we don’t have many options.

I’ve got some money hidden away, but I can’t use it to buy the train tickets. We should keep it in case the worst happens.

If we can’t get food and drink, then we’ll be done for.

As for how we’re going to travel…

Going by car takes a long time. All the boats here only travel to small islands.

[08:05]
So the train is our only choice.

That’s right. We’re going to sneak onto a freight train.

9AM. Valencia. Freight train platform. 19 hours have passed.

They’re going in and out all the time.

It’s not a problem. There are two ways of doing this.

The first one would be sneaking on.

You dummy. I know it doesn’t sound exciting, but it has a good chance of success. Fortunately, this station has a railyard.

[09:05]
There are a lot of places to hide, so we can board the train without being seen.

The other option? That’s simple too. Creating a distraction. We’ll take advantage of the confusion and sneak onto the train. It’d be risky to do it alone, but this time we’re both going to do something. The plan is…

Alright. Let’s choose him. He’s alone and no one else is around him.

Okay, let’s do this as we planned.

Let’s go.

Ah, wait a minute! You’re an employee here, aren’t you?

[10:05]
I can’t find where the station is… I thought it was somewhere around here when I looked on the map… But before I knew it, I’d ended up here.

I’m sorry to bother you while you’re working, but could you show me the way?

That’s right. I came here from Rome to do some sightseeing, but I got lost.

Come on! I don’t want to do something embarrassing in front of a woman.

You’re a man too. So you understand how I feel, don’t you?

Now you get it! I’m glad us guys understand each other.

Ah… So it’s that way?

About 7 minutes walk from here?

Ah, I see. I get it now. Thanks!

[11:07]
Sorry, old man. You’re going to take a little nap.

Right…

Hmm? Well, of course I’m going to take anything I can use.

Because he’s an employee… Ah, there it is!

It’s a radio used by the employees. This should make moving around pretty easy.

There’s an incident happening at the passenger station! A male passenger is causing trouble! I know you’re busy with the freight trains, but please come here right away!

Yes, anyone who’s available! Thanks!

Now anyone working around here should go to the passenger platforms.

Look, they’re heading that way.

[12:05]
Alright, there aren’t many of them left. Let’s go.

It went better than I expected. I didn’t think we’d be so lucky. There’s no one here at all.

If things keep going this way, sneaking onto a freight train will be a piece of cake.

That’s the one we’re getting on! Freight trains don’t have a timetable and we don’t know when our next chance might be! Hurry!

It’s alright. There aren’t many people here, so running won’t draw much attention to us.

Ah! Damn it. There’s still someone here.

Stop it, Miss! He’s suspicious of us… No, he’s suspicious of me.

[13:04]
I knew it. So it’s because of how I look.

It’s not like I want to look this way. You bastard!

Miss! Calm down, Miss!

Never mind about me! This is just how people react. It’s no surprise that this guy is suspicious too.

No matter how angry you get, that won’t change how strange my eye is!

If you keep going, then you’ll also…

It’s okay? Of course it’s not!

It’s not right for people to look at you the same way I get looked at! Just calm down!

Tch. The people over there have started looking this way.

Damn it. I guess I don’t have a choice.

Sorry, Mister.

This isn’t good. That call I made earlier might have been found out.

[14:06]
It’s not your fault, Miss. Don’t worry about it.

We don’t have time to be standing around though. The freight train we were going to board has started moving. Hurry!

I’ll get on first! Run as fast as you can so we don’t get dragged off!

Hold onto me, Miss!

Track 4

11AM. Valencia, Spain. Inside a freight train. 21 hours have passed.

Oof! You got too carried away.

This is the second time you’ve pushed me over. You’re pretty bold.

Okay, stop. Let’s stay like this a little longer.

Someone else’s warmth really does make me feel calm.

Even though I never felt like this until I started dating you.

Something special. I wonder what it is.

[01:10]
It’s not sudden at all.

I’m sure there isn’t another woman like you.

But even though I feel that I should be protecting you, we got found out by the station employee in the end. I’m really sorry.

I don’t think anyone saw us getting on. But this train might stop on the way if they think something strange is going on.

And… It really must have been because of my right eye…

[02:20]
Thanks. A woman has never been seriously angry at someone bothered by my looks before. Even though he was suspicious of how I looked and you might have been looked at strangely for being with me… I was really happy.

It was only natural, huh?

This must be the right time now.

[03:14]
Maybe you shouldn’t be involved with me once this is all over.

It’s not like that. I don’t find you annoying.

Why did the train suddenly brake just now?

Are you okay?

Have they noticed us?

So things won’t be so easy after all.

Miss, we’re getting off.

Stopping somewhere random like this is just strange.

The train staff should start searching the train from the end. There’s nowhere to hide here.

[04:15]
We haven’t gotten that far, but I guess this is as far as we can go.

Hurry. Let’s get out of here before the train staff come down.

The train stopped in this empty place. Being in this countryside is like just asking to be found.

Don’t get so worried. This is a tough situation, but there’s a way out.

Listen carefully. A person’s back is their greatest blind spot, right? Of course passing behind anyone in this situation is impossible.

So what do you think the second blind spot is? It’s above someone.

[05:10]
We’ll climb that bridge onto the train roof and wait for them to go.

Miss. Make sure you don’t look up. If you get on your hands and knees, and keep down low, they shouldn’t notice you. Things feel pretty strange, considering that they should be inspecting the freight. It’s too quiet. What on earth is going on?

Stay down!

Tch. What are they doing here? If we weren’t found out earlier, then the train employees are…

Damn it. We’re in big trouble.

Yes, they probably killed the whole crew on this freight train.

[06:12]
They’re not looking for anything suspicious. They’re definitely looking for us.

I don’t know how they found out our movements, but if you try to run away when they’ve got such a good view, you’d be in their sights and it’d all be over.

Defeating them all. That’s our only chance to escape.

One of them to the right. Two of them to the left. We should be able to manage three of them.

Have you forgotten? We’re above them right now.

I’m going to hang this down there and strangle them.

[07:08]
It’s only a matter of time before we get discovered. I’m going to do it before that.

Now!

You should look up when you’re trying to find someone.

Okay. Now I’ve dealt with the one on the right.

The ones on the left… There are still two of them. I’ll just have to deal with them quickly.

Miss, we’re going to jump down near the bigger guy. Then I’ll deal with the guy in a trench coat.

I don’t have time to explain!

It’s going great!

You’re too slow, Mister!

[08:04]
Pointing your gun down was a mistake. In the time it took for you to be ready, you were already a victim of my wire!

I was able to handle everything…

Are you okay? I did push you a little hard…

It’s okay. I wasn’t hit.

That big guy woke up, huh…

Don’t worry. Someone would definitely miss if they were stumbling that much. I can send him to sleep from where I’m standing.

That’s right. These handcuffs are pretty long!

Hahaha. The handcuffs you used aren’t working in your favour!

[09:02]
You should keep the chain as short as you can.

We got pretty sidetracked, but there shouldn’t be anyone chasing us for a while now.

Let’s get out of here while we can.

Track 5

12PM. Spain. Inside a freight train. 22 hours have passed.

Hmm?

Ah, I guess so.

A car, train, helicopter and Cessna. I’m sure all kinds of vehicles are stuffed in here.

Yeah.

It’s strange, right?

I’m sure kids like me don’t exist in the world you lived in.

Hmm? What is it? I’m continuing where I left off earlier.

[01:00]
I don’t think you should have anything to do with me.

I said this earlier, but it doesn’t mean that I hate you.

I’ve been thinking this for a long time. I know you’re not bothered about how I look, but not everyone is like that. If you’re around someone like me, then you’ll end up being affected too. It happened at the railyard and the museum, right?

I could deal with that being the only thing. But you’re getting into danger because of me too. I can’t guarantee your safety now or in the future.

[02:07]
I’m not right for you.

I didn’t decide that by myself. It’s just the truth, isn’t it?

I only end up hurting you. I don’t want to see that!

I’m only thinking of myself? No… I’m thinking of you…

I’m not running away… You… You’re…

The radio?

Hello?

[03:02]
Got it. We’ll stop right away.

Yes. There’s something unusual going on at the next station and railway track. We have to stop there.

Let’s get off. We’ve come pretty far. We should be able to walk to Barcelona from here.

They might come after us soon. It’s a bit of a long way, but shall we take this path?

Let’s go.

[04:05]
Hey. About what I said earlier…

No, never mind…
